Residential Solar for Home Owners or Homebuilders

Home owners and homebuilders are seeking alternative energy solutions for rising utility costs all across the region. Now more than ever is the time to take advantage of simple to install PV systems and the sizable tax credits from the government that come with them.

Choosing Your Installer

We are certified Solar Installers.  We install solar technology in many areas of North Carolina like Raleigh, Wilmington, Greenville, and Fayetteville.

The key to finding a great solar installer is to do your research and ask questions.

  • The installing company should be turn key.  Turn key means they do not sub-contract out all or parts of the job.
  • The solar installer should carry an electrical license.  This will help to decrease issues that may arise if something is not installed correctly.
  • Ask what types of certifications the installing company has. NABCEP is the national standard.
  • What types of continuing education does the company undergo to make sure they are knowledgeable about the latest innovations and products in the alternative energy industry?
  • What types of insurance do they carry for your protection?
  • Will this company be in business 5 years from now? Like any major purchase, it is advantageous to buy from a company that will be there for you years after your purchase.

Is the Lowest price the "best deal"?

It might not be. You generally get what you pay for, and it's possible that a low price could be a sign of inexperience. Price should not be the only consideration, and quality should probably rank high on the list.  Ask for photos and references from past jobs.

How do you choose among competing bids?

If you decide to get more then one bid make sure you compare apples to apples.  Some PV modules generate more electricity per square foot than others.  Bids should clearly state the generating capacity of the system.  (measured in Kilowatts)  There can be up to a 50 percent difference in module price.  Warranty of the labor should also be considered.
